Jordan ties are praised

MANAMA:

The close ties linking Bahrain and Jordan were hailed by His Majesty King Hamad yesterday when he received visiting Jordanian Premier Faisal Al Fayez.

Also present at the audience was Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa who earlier received his Jordanian counterpart on arrival at the airport.

His Majesty and Mr Al Fayez discussed regional and international issues and the challenges facing the Arab nation. Mr Al Fayez delivered a message to the King from King Abdullah.

The Prime Minister also received Mr Al Fayez at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa and discussed bilateral relations.

Later, the Premier hosted a dinner banquet in honour of Mr Al Fayez and his delegation. Present were a number of ministers and senior officials.

A number of other meetings were also held at the Ritz-Carlton on the sidelines of the Jordanian Premier's visit. Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi held talks with his Jordanian counterpart Dr Khalid Toqan on joint co-operation in educational development, training and the holding of workshops. while Municipalities and Agriculture Minister Dr Mohammed Al Sitri held talks with Jordanian Irrigation and Agriculture Minister Dr Hazim Al Nasser on bilateral co-operation.

Labour and Social Affairs Ministry Under-Secretary Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa met Jordanian Labour Minister Amjad Al Majali and reviewed joint co-ordination in the training field.
